I haven't forgot about this but with moving back home for a while I lost most ambition to write.  I will continue this eventually but in the meantime I will update with some photos.

And I finally got my third stripe about two weeks ago!

     It's been a quite a while since I last posted and a lot has happened too.  I have had two seminars, spent a week in Long Beach to watch the IBJJF Worlds competition, our academy got the first female RMNU green belt in California, my coach became a brown belt and I got a couple new gi's

   The other night in class while drilling the smash pass and ways to defend it my pant decided to give up their life :(  Sad but I knew it was going to happen sooner or later the fabric on one side was noticeably thinner but I got them on clearance for less than $20 including shipping and I did wear them a lot so I really cant complain.  I just sucks being back down to one gi :(  I had to wear my husband's gi this morning since mine wasn't dry yet.

   On an exciting note only 21 days until I head down to Long Beach with my coach and two teammates to see Worlds and have some sweet training opportunities!  This will be my first time seeing an IBJJF tournament so I'm pretty excited.  I'm hoping I can also find a new gi while I'm down there right now I have my eyes on a ladies Keiko Raca.  Now that I'm sure I want to be doing BJJ for a long time I'm ready to spend a little more on a gi that I know will last me a while.

  A lot has happened in the past month we remodeled our training space making it so much nicer  and the new colors are awesome and I got my first stripe!!  Now I am one step closer to getting my next belt! Now that its starting to make a lot more sense to me hopefully I can start to progress a little faster.  This week should also be pretty exciting since we are starting a no gi class and Friday I get to go to my first BJJ seminar.

What has green and purple spots all over?

My legs! We have been drilling hard this week and I definitely have the bruises to show. Tonight was open mat so I got to roll with my coach and with one one of our green belts which was awesome cause I learned many things that I can improve on. I seem to have a really hard time remembering sweeps and subs while actually rolling so I definitely need to improve on that. I just have to remember to see each time I have to tap out as a learning experience and find out what I did wrong and try not to make the same mistake again. This is the first time I have truly loved a sport and I keep loving it more every day! Always remember to have Raptor arms!

     I know I have been severely slacking on this blog but I promise it's been for a good reason.  Our household stuff finally arrived!! Yay now we have real furniture! I am sitting on a chair at a desk to type this unlike the last posts sitting on the floor and my computer on a desk made of cardboard boxes.  I will never take having a bed for granite again it was a very long 3 months without it.

      Anyways back to the whole point of this blog I have been getting a lot more training in lately since we started having morning classes in addition to the night ones we originally had.  Nothing like BJJ twice a day!

In other exciting news I ordered a new gi I got myself a Tatami Fightwear Nova Basic in blue. 

Since it doesn't have many patches on it I just got this sweet patch to go on it.  They are a new company and have some pretty awesome stuff so go and check them out 31fifty

  I'm pretty excited because this will be the first thing I sew with my "new" sewing machine.  Thats right I sew not only do I enjoy rolling on the mat with sweaty people I am also a domestic goddess.

Okay so my machine isn't that new she's 47 years old but she's a classic and this one is also 30 years newer than my other sewing machine.

  Back to BJJ there is a local tournament this weekend warriors quest its free so I'm kinda thinking of competing but since I haven't been training that long I'm unsure if I will compete but I am definitely going there to watch and support my friends that are competing. 

   Now it's time for me to get my gi on and head to morning class!

The Green Belt test was a success last night all four guys testing passed! After it was over we got a nice group photo of everyone.
